Community
Time Enough joined with “Year of Manx Language” to create a colouring competition for all ages to be judged by head of Culture Vannin, Dr. Breesha Madrell.
Time Enough is the English translation of the traditional Manx saying, “Traa-dy-looar”.
Politics
The 26th of April is Census Night. During the week beginning 20 April 2026, every household received a letter explaining how to complete the census online and how to ask for other options. If people prefer, they can also complete the census using a paper form or by phone.
Planning
The King Orry statue will be erected next to Tynwald Hill despite objections from Manx National Heritage.
Mannin Music will be allowed to have a music stage on Peel Beach this year.
Transport
Mini-fest and FordFest brought hundreds of cars to the Island, from vintage models to the most modern. This three-day event included displays, drive outs and social gatherings, with photo opportunities at Fenella Beach and the TT grandstand.
Sport
Theodore Sloane (aged 8) became the Island’s youngest Jiu-Jitsu champion at the European Championships, held this year in Dublin.
At 6am on the 25th April, four veteran rowers set off from the Isle of Whithorn in their wooden boat the ‘Ninian’ to Ramsey. A second rowing crew then began the return journey, arriving in Scotland at 10pm. Club chairman John Mcguire coxed the crews on both legs. The oldest rowers were 69 (male) and 67 (female).
