The Guild was formed in 1892 to nurture, improve and display the strong musical talents of the Isle of Man. The competition includes choirs, solo singers of all ages, dance and the spoken word. Around 4,000 competitors take part in this Festival. The Cleveland Ohio Manx Society donate a gold medal every year.

The proceedings start at the Royal Chapel, after which a procession is led to the hill for the reading of the legislature in Manx and English. The Lieutenant Governor presides over the ceremony. This is a National Holiday, and a fair is located in the field behind the hill, with stalls and family entertainment.

World record attempt for Group Pilates at 2pm. The current record is 3,486 people in a single class. The festival will emphasise local producers, businesses, and charities, with stalls showcasing Manx food, drinks, crafts, products, wellness services, and charitable initiatives. The Village aims to promote connection, balance, and sustainable living.
