Erin Arts Centre

John Bethell MBE, D Mus (Hon) has been director of the Erin Arts Centre since it began in 1971, transforming a Methodist church, into a community theatre and music space. A small gallery, the “Sir James Mellon”, hangs varied exhibitions throughout the year and a there is a theatre bar. In 2004,  a new continuo organ, designed and built in the Isle of Man, and incorporating decorative panels designed by Iris Burton was installed.

The Centre has become home to several prestigious music events, including:

· The Mananan International Festival of Music and the Arts
· The Mananan International Festival of Opera
· The Lionel Tertis International Viola Festival & Competition
· The Barbirolli International Oboe Festival & Competition
