Glen Dhool/Dhoon

Dhoon Glen

One of the steepest Glens on the Island. It is known for its water falls in particular the Inneen Vooar or Big Girl that cascades down over 40 meters. Broadleaf trees including sycamore, birch and ash create the canopy. The Glen opens out onto the beach where in the 1880 and 1890s a small passenger ferry used to unload Day Trippers.

In 2018 a small fairy house was hidden in the Glen.

The Electric Railway stops at the entrance to the Glen where there is a tiny Cafe.
