Glen Mooar

Glen Mooar, Coast Road, Sulby, IM7

The Road of the Gull passes Glen Mooar.

Within the Glen are the remains of an 8th century keeill, Patrick’s Chapel, a burial ground and a Priest’s Cell. Between 1879 and 1968 a Railway line used to run above the Glen supported by an iron lattice-work viaduct and it substantial stone pillars remain.

The Spooyt Vane waterfall lies just beyond the Glen however the owner kindly allows visitors access. It is one of the highest waterfalls on the Island.
