Opened in 1922 the Manx Museum was formally the Island’s main hospital.
The Island has been inhabited since before 6500BC. The Manx Museum covers its history and the changes. Highlights include the skeletons of pre-historic animals, Stone Age flints, Viking burial hordes, the interior designs of Baillie Scott and the history of the TT with very early motorcycles.
The Museum includes a Cafe, Shop and Archive Library. There is also a Gallery of Manx Artists, an Exhibition Gallery and a Lecture Theatre. The Museum holds regular lectures, workshops and events.
