Marown New Church-St Runius

Main Road, Crosby, IM4 4BH

The Old St Runius Church is situated in the centre of Marown Parish. The only landlocked Parish on the Island.

n 1844, Philip Killey donated land for a new church to be built on the Main Road and this was consecrated in 1859. The Church is designed by Ewan Christian who went on to design the National Portrait Gallery. The stained glass windows, added in 1965, depict the Irish Saints, St Patrick and St Runius, the third Bishop of Soda and Man.

The churchyard contains a gravestone designed by Archibald Knox.

During the TT the Church provides refreshments.
