Port Soderick

Old Castletown Road, Port Soderick, IM4

One of very few Partially Owned Beaches on the Island due to fishing rights for the Oyster Beds which were cultivated here. There are no Trespass laws on the Island so there are no Private Beaches however a few like this one have restrictions.

Historically the bay had an Amusements Arcade and paddling pool which existed until 1993. Previously there was a suspended Coastal Walkway to the Sea Lion Pool dating back to Victorian times and a funicular railway connecting the beach to Marine Drive.

The kayaking station belongs to the charity Heroes on the Water. It is occasionally open to the public.
