Valkyrs Hockey Club

At the end of the 1950s, Hockey, on the Isle of Man, was not a popular sport.

The Thursday mixed hockey league had been associated with half-day closing of offices, shops and firms, but Saturday was now becoming the principal day off. As a consequence the Saturday mixed league was established in the 1961/62 season.

This league consisted of four teams, Cammags, Onchan, Valkyrs and Vikings and in 1964/65 the Vulcans, Vagabonds and Valiants were formed.
